And On Monday, God Made The World - Stainless Steel

Whilst on tour in Canada in 2007, Billy was inspired by Montreal’s drizzling rain to buy some felt-tip pens and a sketchbook. Over time, his drawings of little islands became intricate yet honest shapes – and Born On A Rainy Day began.

This is the first-ever sculpture from the collection, and is inspired by Billy's past as a welder on Glaswegian dockyards. His signature is inscribed onto the inside of the detailed wing - skip to 00:36 of our video above to see it up close!

Speaking on the series, Billy says: “I just want to keep honing the thing that I’ve got and make it better and better – that’s all. That’s the only ambition I feel."
