Liquor Store

Hand-signed Giclée Limited Edition Artwork by Bob Dylan.

There is an emphasis on journey, transition and impermanence in The Beaten Path works. This is partly implied by the multiplicity of locations covered, with each building, shop front and city view appearing as a moment of pause during transition. It is often the iconography itself that speaks of impermanence and travel: motels, road signs and empty highways stretching into the horizon all evoke the tradition of the great American road trip and a life spent on tour.

The real-life location depicted in Liquor Store is Encino Park Liquor in Los Angeles, California. Set a little way out of the centre of town, Guardian art critic Jonathan Jones reflects on Dylan’s choice of locations to depict, ‘Most of his sketches are of places on the edge of town or on run-down corners, the fading, interstitial essence of Americana: coffee shops, drive-ins, all-night venues. Myth haunts these stage sets of American stories and songs, yet they are secretive, mysterious. They are seen from outside by an artist who does not try to learn more or less than his eyes tell him.’

This artwork is a hand-signed Giclée on archival 100% cotton, mould made Magnani 1404 350gsm QuaForte TM paper limited edition by Bob Dylan.

This artwork is also available in a set of six.
