John created his first oil painting at the age of 12 after being given an easel for Christmas. Forty years later, he still uses the same easel to create his illusionary 3-D wall sculptures.
His new collection is influenced by L.S Lowry and time he spent in the Pennine Hills as a youth. He explains: “With this work, I tried to create the feel of the industrial town in the ‘Lowryesque’ style, but using a lot more colour.”
