Going Home (3D)
A master of illusion, John is celebrated for his mind-boggling 3D wall sculptures. Step from left to right and see the magic for yourself!
Speaking on this piece, he says: “I painted this picture from memories of my childhood spent in a small town in the Pennine Hills. My grandfather was a steam engine driver, and I can remember the gas lighter man doing his rounds on the streets each evening. I wanted to try and create the atmospheric feel of that period with the stone walls, cobbled lanes and red telephone box.”
All of John’s artworks are originally painted by hand without any digital images or tracing. For the full effect of the 3D movement, they are best hung with the centre at eye level.
