Majesty and Mist

Lawrence was inspired to paint this piece when walking in the grounds of Burghley House, a grand 16th-century English country house in Stamford.

Lawrence says: "I feel a very spiritual connection with my surroundings – not just the sights, but the sounds and smells. People tell me they buy my art for an escape; if I can transport them somewhere else, even briefly, then I've done my job.”

A giclée is a printing process which creates a richness, accuracy and depth of colour through microscopic dots of pigment-based ink, ensuring the fidelity of the print to the original artwork.
