Inspired by his childhood in 1950s Yorkshire, Nigel has created a collection of nostalgic, evocative paintings that capture observations of life, from the mundane to the profound.

He says: "This series of four editions could be seen as an exploration of relationships at seminal moments of life: childhood, youth, adulthood and maturity.

"The main theme of this piece is youth. Holiday romances are a common shared experience, and in many ways the purest of romantic experiences. They are short-lived and never reach a stage of stagnation or boredom. The elation of first meeting and the agony of parting are felt within a short time frame - a steep learning curve!"
