Over The Bridge And Far Away
Contemporary landscape artist, Paul Corfield paints charming landscapes, fuelled by his imagination and the Dorset landscape. From sunset-soaked hills to seaside cliffs and snow-laden trees, Paul’s beautiful landscapes explore the beauty of nature. His timeless idealist style is reflected on his paintings with the airbrushed appearance, incredibly detailed elements, and the injection of light into every part of a painting.
The new instalment of “Home from Home” has taken elements from two of his different styles - one more focused on rolling landscapes and seascapes and one more focused on hyperrealism compromising portraitures and abstract work - giving a progressive contemporary feel to his work, whilst pushing and developing his technique and style. All the pieces of this collection evoke a sense of familiarity and they remind us of places we’ve been with a dream-like quality.
“Over The Bridge and Far Away” title is a play on the feeling of wanting to escape normality and the mundane to what feels like a faraway land. In this piece, Corfield experiments with a new set of stylist elements from the rolling foreground with the textured grass to the flowers, adding a new dimension to the dream-like artwork. Evoking strong feelings of tranquillity and peace, the detailed airbrush style combined with the warm colour palette demonstrates Paul’s incredible artistry.
Paul says: “Although the paintings are idyllic in portrayal, everything still looks like it is meant to be there, and nothing feels superficial”. Paul’s paintings are pieces of heavenly perfection, a special place where everyone is welcome. Presented an idealised view of nature, his limited-edition prints, and original oil paintings add a feeling of peace and tranquillity to any living space.
This piece is a Hand Varnished Giclée on Canvas, and it can also be purchased in a set of five alongside the other artwork in this collection.
