Showers At Sea

Deep in Paul’s imagination is a world of green hills, sunset skies and trees whose leaves never fall. Celebrating his love of the countryside, his new pieces intertwine everyday family experiences with a technique influenced by airbrushing, animation and 3D modelling software.

His paintings begin with a small 5-10cm sketch and evolve through light and shadow once he has selected the colour of the sky.

Speaking on this artwork, he says: “My daughter and I share a love of thunderstorms, and we will often sit on the clifftops overlooking Bournemouth beach and watch thunderstorms rolling in off the sea from France. I’d love to live in a house just like this one. Then we could watch storms whenever we liked.”
