John Lennon Red Gold, Monoprint on Card
This dynamic monoprint on card by Ronnie Wood portrays another legendary musician, John Lennon. Featuring red and gold paint accents, the iconic artwork is almost Warholian in its treatment of the face of the late Beatles band member; repeating his face in a spectrum of different colours. This was one of Ronnie's first ever released prints, here revisited and reinvented with acrylic paint and pastel making it absolutely unique.
Ronnie's love affair with art actually predates his rock career, dropping out of Ealing Art College to join the band The Birds in 1964. Even during his legendary career as guitarist for The Rolling Stones after 1976, Ronnie continued to create artworks and he made many sketches while touring the world with the band.
