Northern Lights

Keen mushroom hunter Xue braved the forest both literally and metaphorically for her fairy tale themed collection, which takes traditional children’s stories and gives them a modern twist.

This piece is inspired by the cult movie, Carnival of Souls. She adds: “The girl here is a nocturnal soul who plays with her companions under the veil of darkness. My fairground theme started with a night-time visit to a traditional steam fair.”
